My seramas are about the only ones I have laying. A few Phoenix eggs here and there. Zero bantam cochin eggs, and one pen of d’uccles hasn’t laid in a couple months, one pen lays often but 2 hens decided to sit.
I thought pullet at first, though in the one pic, the wattle showing gives me a bit of pause. But for 7 weeks, I’d have to stick with pullet.
Pretty babies!
@nchls school I have a couple silkied roos in that pen, but also a couple smooth. There are a few smooth hens too. I do need to pull some roosters, so I'll see what I can do about getting them separated. I wish I had one more pen, but I might be able to find a way to separate them for a while.
Hawks! :barnie
They are bad here too. I’m missing another duck. :hit
I leave out a few excess bantam cochin roosters, but do they touch them??? Noooooo.
Faraday, that one looks very young. Parents are probably nearby too. :tongue
They are laying decent now, so just tell me when. The...
Very pretty @LilJoe !
I have a few similar, but not quite as pretty as yours.
This one is darker and I have a couple like her.
This young one is looking good so far.
Still looking female but I have had some late bloomers this year. Hopefully you should know for sure in the next week or two.
Too cute. I have a silkied young one that I swore was female, long after the ones that hatched with it were showing definite male signs. A few weeks later, it’s comb...
I really don’t know enough about showing, but if it’s just a 4H type show (not a sanctioned show) I’d probably take a chance and show her, just for the experience. It will depend on if the judges notice the sprig or if they know the standard well.
I know with any comb points that have been lost...
Yours are white? I'm not sure how particular they are about combs, or how many deduction points it would be, but I always heard roosters with sprigs would likely be passed on to offspring. Not sure about hens with them. I would guess they will be more critical of sprigs in in-cage showings...
Awesome! Good luck!
You might try your state thread (and any neighboring states if you are close to the border)

Neat!
You should also check out the cameras from Wyze. If you have WiFi and electric to your coop, these cameras are neat and cheap. $20 each, nothing else to buy! I have 5 of them around my yard. You can watch them live from anywhere and if you add a micro-SD card, it records everything too...
I do! Only 2 or 3 are laying now, most of them are mothering. I have a couple smooth girls in the silkied pen, so offspring do have a possibility of being smooth too.
Everyone’s chicks are looking so good!! I’m loving all the pics :love
Unfortunately it died. :(
I just hatched 11 chicks, kept them inside for a couple days, then gave them to my broody momma group. They are all surviving so far.
