    American serama thread!

I would happily just swap eggs; goose or guinea for mine. A well-built rabbit hutch would easily house a pair or trio.

    American serama thread!

Yes, they are all housed together at this time. I don't have any new pictures and I've probably shown these. I need to take new pictures as these are older and I've a lot of young birds that have never had their picture taken.

    Two of my newest serama.

    American serama thread!

I don't normally sell eggs; usually I'm the buyer. When I get shipped eggs individually wrapped and packed in foam or shavings so no eggs touch, I have a good hatch. That is how I'd ship them. I like the foam inserts, but if I used those I'd have to ask for a better price.

    American serama thread!

Yes, I'm trying to tempt you. I'm homebound and the only way I can get new and different birds is by swaps and trades.

    American serama thread!

Since I am not planning on hatching many more serama for a while, I have serama hatching eggs available. My flock consists of smooth, frizzle and silkied genetics. Most of my flock are 10 ounces and less. PM me if you're interested.

The hen in the my pictures that is mostly browns is now mostly white. Rather a disappointment. These are my newest chicks; 13-14 grams each at hatch. With each hatch I hope for a silkied bird. Some on my roosters and hens have the silkied gene.

    American serama thread!

From this and other pictures it appears to me the difference between mottled and splash is that splash is a more random pattern where mottled is uniform.

    American serama thread!

Probably my own terminology. When I type in both terms it looks like you are correct. What I call splash is mottled. Now to get my old brain to remember it-HA. Splash is similar, but not as heavy in pattern.

It is impressive. I've had chickens numerous years and I hadn't given them much credit for being able to learn much more than to sit on my arm. Most are not smart enough to go around a fence, but instead try to go through it.

How long did it take your son to do the training?

    American serama thread!

Very cute video. I've never shown birds and my son is not a pet person. He, too, is into computers. When I was younger there never was time. Now that I'm older... not going to happen. I do try to raise the best possible as I sell them as pets. And to that end I selectively breed for pet qualities.

He is likely to mature in the B or C groups. As to big or small it really depends on what you want. Serama that mature under 12 ounces are not nearly as productive as those that are B and C. Some of my smallest hens lay an egg every 2nd or 3rd day and lay a total of 6 to 8 eggs before going...

Expect the splash to cover most of the body and wings as she gets older; she's a beauty!

    American serama thread!

My bet is she will be a beautiful splash when she is mature. Whatever the case, she will keep the white in some form. He certainly is!

I'm way south of you now-Tennessee. We moved away from the WI cold. I have a fruit tree starting to bloom and I've heard of others down here that have fruit trees in bloom-a crazy and bad year. What kind of turkey? I have midget white, an Oregon gray, and Eastern Wild Turkeys. It's the Oregon...
