Thanks! Yes I was showing birds. I had my Serama cockerel, 2 Serama pullets, and a buff Cochin bantam. My Serama male won BB and 3rd overall S.C.C.L. Another one of my pictures (a kite) made it to state and won reserve champion of class. Glad you were able to stop by to the fair!

Just for fun, here are my new English Orpington bantams. :) They were shipped so they still aren't in the greatest condition.

Got the first egg today from the Cochin bantams. They hatched in January, and they are bantams, so I think eggs at 6 1/2 months isn't too bad. The girl in the picture laid it.

Hi, I have a trio of buff Cochin bantams, hatched in January from Duane Urch. Unfortunately they all have split wing so they are worthless to me. They are all super friendly, and are not to be sold as food. I would preffer they go to a home with other bantams as they would do not do well with...

Unfortunately I was unable to make it too the swap today. I did however have one of my good friends pick me up the Serama hen I was planning on getting. Trojan sure was doing his best to impress her tonight.

Well, I had quite the experience with Trojan this evening. I went to take so pictures of him, and I set him down on a ledge outside in the sun. I went to turn on the camera and he took off. I chased him all around the yard until I got him cornered and caught him. Maybe he really is wild, lol.

Yep, I was having some issues with his tail and the box. I was able to later move him, after talking with the show staff, to an empty cage for the night so he wouldn't damage his tail. He was a pricey little guy and I would hate it if anything happened to him. I'm really looking forward to...

That's good. I bought two Seramas yesterday (not sure when you saw me, but at one point I was carrying the cockerel around for a while) and was told he was "wild." He certainly isn't wild. When showing Seramas, attitude and showy-ness is very important, as the bird simply flapping their wings or...

He won't be huge - probably around 3 pounds, at most - but that's still big for a bantam. Have you been handling him daily? That will be very, very important for when he's older and you show him. My cockerel wasn't handled before I got him and he's calmed down some since I've got him, but it was...

Thank you. And be aware, my boy is still a baby - he is going to get much, much bigger. Wyandotte bantams are on the heavy size as far as bantams.

I already did it, I used flea and tick shampoo for cats. Afterwards, I let them dry for about 3 hours and put the Frontline on them for kittens on thier necks where they can't reach it. I put a little bit of warm coconut oil on the feather shafts to remove any shell casings even though I didn't...

Just got done washing the birds with mites. It was weird, I didn't see any live ones or casings. I dusted them again and am waiting for them to dry before I check again for casings and mites and put on the Frontline. While they are drying I am planning on cleaning their pen (for the second time...

I don't blow dry my smooth feathered birds, only the Frizzles as blow drying smooth feathered birds make the feathers brittle and breakable. I do keep them inside though for a good two hours and then they go out in the shop which is very warm as I have two brooders out there. I picked up...
