I for one have no problem with shooting any strange tree that comes on my property! There are way too many of the things around anyway. Sometimes I even pull young ones up by their roots! Call me heartless or whatever, but that is my opinion on the matter.
That is true. We have a lot of coyotes around here and NO extra cats anymore. There used to be quite a few semi-wild cats around, also hardly any Jack rabbits! I get nervous for our 2 kitties, they come in at night, but sometimes the coyotes are around during the day :( My chickens are locked up...
I have a pair of Aussie Spots and I love them! The little girl duck is so sweet and the drake has gotten such an attitude, but he is so small it is just funny.
I recently brought 2 new hens home, one escaped out into the Christmas tree field which is also coyote land! She was gone all day and I had about given up hope, but then the neighbors spotted her and after a big chase she was finally captured! Dumb chicken. She stays home now just fine.
I have been getting a new layer crumble that is alfalfa based and has no corn or soy. My chickens really like it, and now when I give them a handful of scratch, that is all the corn they are getting. Just FYI, because some people are worried about feeding too much corn.
