I have a new problem that I could use some info with. Some of my chickens combs are turning black. They look dirty but it doesn't come off. They still act normal but I'm little cocerned.
She is between 9 & 10 months old. I have given the flock oyster shells regularly. I thought the wierdest part was that she layed 2 in a row, within 2 minutes of each other.
For the second day this week (Wed & Mon) one of my red sexlinks layed 2 soft eggs! One big soft egg and then another just slightly smaller. What does this mean? Any guesses?
Welcome to the Massachusetts Chicken Group. When I got 12 chicks that were supposed to be pullets in the fall 3 of them were roosters! I really liked the roosters but couldn't keep them. I brought them back to where I bought them. The store was happy to take them back.
