Ty for the testing info. I had no idea. Question about feed: I have 5 chickens who are about to come off starter feed and go onto grower feed. The organic starter cost about $37 for 50 libs. Anyone from Massachusetts know where I can get a better price? Or is that a good price?

I got my chicks from Agway and they sell them sexed. There's an Agway in Danvers and an Agway in Waltham. There may be more...I'm not sure. Also, all the local fairs sell them in the fall (Tospfield Fair..etc)
I have Speckled Sussex, Australorp, Buff Orpington and Salmon Faverolle. All cold hardy, sweet and docile, don't mind confinement and good leyers even in winter. I researched for a couple of years before picking those breeds. I wanted breeds that could hndles the MA weather, lay well, be sweet...
Hello all my fellow New Englanders :) So glad to have found this thread! There's such a mass of information on here, and being a newbie to trying to raise chickens, it's stressing me out. I was wondering if you could tell me where you bought your chicks. I am only looking for 3-5 females, and I...
