Yep, me too. I'm in central jersey. At least 5-6 inches out there already. I didn't see my girls venture out @ all today. They're probably hunkering down in the coop!
Oh yeah. Its all coming back to me now. I like the Ameraucana look better I think. I'm hoping that one or both my EE babies will lay blue or pink as I already have mint green and all different shades of brown. :-)
Ooh, Ameraucanas! Are those the ones that have more of a hump in back than tail feathers sticking up? Maybe next yr I'll add those.
For some reason people tell me the EE eggs taste better and are richer tasting. I dont know, they all taste great to me and so much better than store bought.

Oops sorry, figuring out how this site works!
I agree! My 2 older EE's like to jump their uncovered run fence and free range in my yard while the others just stare in jealousy! I do free range all of them in the back yard a few times a week.
Hi All, haven't been on here for a really long time. Just got 2 EE's and a golden lace wyandotte (my 1st one), so excited! I got them @ Agway in New Egypt. They just came in this morning. They also got in BR's and RR's. I have ten big girls all different, almost all laying again now since they...

Wow thats great for no light. I would be happy with that. I have a light and have 10 laying and usually i'll get average 7 a day sometimes less. I do think the light did jump start them to lay but I really dont think mine even need it now.....
Here's some pics from today. They enjoyed eating the ice chips and snow and the buffet of bread we gave them.
Margalo.
Eva and Rue.
Eating ice chips, not sure why, they have clean water.
They did NOT eat all that bread and its a rare treat.
Sunnychooks, this is your...
Good morning, I guess everyone is digging themselves out. We got about 5-6 in. My hens did well. I exchanged some eggs for someone to plow my long driveway. Thanks girls! They give back in many ways.
I think that's why I'm gonna try making a smaller coop to keep the silkies I'm thinking of getting. My girls are SOOOO big they would definitely poo all over them!
Awesome, glad you were able to get them! What color silkies does he have as I'm looking to get some, but not fond of some colors. Let us know when you get them and take lots of pics.
