Holmdel is right next door to me. Tell your friend that the farm near the Parkway South exit usually has eggs in the warm weather. There's also a farm on Rt. 34 N, on the corner of Willow Brook Rd., that has a large flock of free-ranging birds. They also sell fresh lamb. (Look for the sign.)...

Christine, I'm so sorry! Bears are the most difficult predator to deal with - I think only a concrete bunker and steel doors will keep them out. You have to think of your own safety right now. I can't imagine how painful this is for you, because I can't imagine having to give up my flock...

Tom Kernan has great birds. I'd never hesitate to buy from him.( Although, when I saw him at the Delmarva Show a couple of weekends ago, I only saw him loading Sumatras on his trailer.) Best call and ask. If he doesn't have any, he can probably direct you to someone who does. There's usually...

I live in Middletown, and the last time I called the township, the (very belated) response was that there were NO regulations regarding chickens in the books. Regardless, I keep my coop area clean and neat, and I only have bantam males, so it doesn't annoy my neighbors. We're very lucky here...

I've wrapped my coop for the past two winters - best thing I ever did. Girls out everyday. Remember, if you go this route, to make sure there's plenty of ventilation.

Great! Keeping my fingers crossed for no snow. See you there! Be forewarned - this is a beginner talk, for people who don't know anything. You'll probably hear a lot of stuff you already know, but there will be a Q&A at the end.

The presentation is actually at the Buena Regional High School, 125 Weymouth Rd, Buena, NJ. On Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 6-8pm. (Snow date is March 4th.) I guess they don't have a meeting room or anything at the actual library. Bob - I get all of my birds or eggs from breeders, by advance...

I coop in on Fridays, so I actually stay for two nights. It's just over a three hour drive for me. If you want to get on your way after the show, there's a ton of shopping and places to eat as you get closer to 95.
