My bator is huge. I have 2 fans and take temp at the top and bottom. They are usually only about 1 degree difference. The fans do a good job of keeping temps consistent. In my hatcher temps vary about 2-3 degrees BUT I am using 3 different thermometers. (the bator is just one with a probe...

The few mins I am in the hatcher is not going to change my hatch or shrink wrapping. If your humidity is correct it will recover. There are things you can do to fix it if you lose all your humidity if you open the hatcher. Add a wet paper towel, spray the eggs with water... it doesn't take...

I don't open eggs to pull chicks out. They have to do the work. I only help if they get shrink wrapped because of humidity. Maybe your temps were lower and they are taking longer to hatch. Humidity does not soften the egg for hatch... it is to keep the chick moist while it hatches so the...

I am having a great hatch! FINALLY! I have 2 vaporizers, 1 fogger and 2 puppy pads. Humidity is NOT high but decent. They are still drying out some but I can get to them before they die. I had SO MANY make it to lockdown I had to put 4 doz in the bator and add humidity. Glad the bator was...

I have something similar. My hubby had to have a catheter. I have the hose we drained it with and I had that on a 5 gallon bucket. I can get PLENTY of water in the hatcher, I just can't get the humidity to go above about 45%. Someone suggested a puppy puddle pad. I could put those on each...

Ok the humidity is ok.... close to 60% now. Much better than the 35% I was getting. But the temp is not getting above 90. Dang it....I didn't change anything other than add the fogger. I moved the heater and fan to see if it might be blowing DIRECTLY on the thermostat controller. I hate to...

So I am now running a test to see what happens with the new fogger. I have a shallow turkey pan and added the fogger in the top drawer and seems the vapors move from the pan and down with no problems. I will see what happens when temp is up usually that will cause the humidity to drop...

I don't use any humidity source for the first 18 days at all.... I don't add humidity till they are in lockdown. 80% during incubation will kill them if it stays high.

You guys got me thinking about how to fix my humidity issue. I found someone local that has a reptile fogger I am going to pick up... reason being the others seem to require CLEAN water and I can't ensure the water is clean much less filtered. the reptile fogger people use in water bowls and...

I don't add ANY water to the incubator so sometimes my humidity does not even register. I just hatched a HUGE batch of cuckoo marans. How old are his hens? I find the older the hen the less likely the eggs are to hatch.
