I think that looks like a nice incubator. I've spent 3X that on ones here in the US. Why settle with just those breeds? I love variety and have about 80......mostly different breeds....but I focus more on egg color variety.. I mix and match roosters to hens that will product fun and unique...

Beautiful eggs! I hope my new Lavender Ameraucanas lays that color and I hope my new BCM will lay as dark as yours! I really want some darker olives than I have right now!

Omg! I was kind of joking about the skillet incubator. How are you going to turn the eggs without losing heat/humidity? I sure will be interested in knowing if you hatch any!

I use the Hovabator Genesis 1588. It is digital, fan assisted and has a really big viewing area. It is also deep. My friend has one that is not deep and she has trouble with chicks falling out if she has to open the bator during hatch for any reason. (I know, you're not suppose to, but she...

Are you able to 'pin point' the light? You aren't just trying to hold the egg up to a regular light bulb without 'pin pointing' it, are you? You can google candling information. Either 'how to make a chicken candler' or just 'candling chicken eggs' I use a really strong small headed...

Hahaha. I got one of those. Too small. When the chicks hatch, be careful they don't get hung by the thermometer that is attached across the incubator top. And I had one die when it got his head stuck between the water well and the plastic plate on the top part! I only use it now for a chick...

Thanks! Do you sell Golden Cuckoo Marans? Their eggs? Do you sell Lavender Ams? I just hatched three. Two are males. Would like some more pullets or eggs. Let me know. Also, while driving thru TN a few weeks ago, we got a lottery ticket and won $5 but we forgot to stop and get the money on...

What temp/humidity settings are you using for the first 15 day? 18 days? Lockdown? What type of incubator? You should be getting a better rate than 30%

I keep my eggs in a turner until lockdown, THEN I put them in the cartons to hatch. I make sure all the lowest dips in the air sacs are facing me so I can take a quick look and see if they are pipping or not. Hatching them in the cartons prevent the other hatching chicks from playing soccer...

ok. I have a friend who has Golden Cuckoo Marans. He has had a hard time hatching their eggs because the shells are really thick. (The color coating on them is thick plus they have lots of calcium) So, my thought is they need to be hatched with really low humidity for the first 15 days...

Question: I have a new Brinsea Eco Mini that I will be using just for the last 3 days of incubating (lockdown). It came with a thermometer across the top 1/3 of the unit. When I turned it on to see how it worked, it constantly was reading 104 degrees! This was straight from the factory. So...

Question: Do you guys lift the incubator top to remove chicks while they hatch? I have heard people do this all the time. But then, I've heard that if you do this, the rest of the hatching eggs will be messed up. Any experienced reply would be great. Thanks!

My crazy roo was 'getting' everything that moved by the time we gave him away at 19 weeks! I hatched 22 chicks from him two weeks ago! Yes, he was the dad....(only rooster I had!) I hatched a few eggs from hens who started laying AFTER he was gone. I saw him on those hens before they started...

I have this song now stuck in my mind! I sing it in the shower, as I drive down the road, as I cook! Ugh! But, thanks, Penny Hen, it is an 'oh so true' song and was right on as if singing about my rooster!
