I have a sportsman 1502 and the 1550 hatcher. hatcher stays at 55% (I let it dry when nothing's hatching) and the incubator stays right at 15-20%. this was my last hatch (local eggs not shipped) and yes, I hatch in the trays. makes life much easier since chicks aren't scrambling the other eggs...

i would say avoid the 'sloshing' movement, so set the eggs so the air cell is least movable.

I was wrong about something... the turner on the new controller isn't working either. so it's something else I guess. it's not turning constantly at least, only when the manual button's pushed, so i can still rotate a couple times a day, but still aggravating.

I'll be able to start collecting eggs again here soon. the last 2 weeks, either I haven't gotten any eggs, or they're frozen solid by the time I do. got 3 sfh hatched, 15 more due in a bit over a week, plus 6 tsc red/buff/white pullets to keep the 3 sfh company.
