Right now I have 265 eggs in my bator. I just looked, and my bator (GQF) is sitting at 100.0 degrees, and 62% humidity. My little digital meter is sitting on the top shelf next to the water tray.

On anouther thread, there is a person, that swears by dry incubation. I just don't see how she hatches the chicks that she does, but she does have some humidity in the bator, so I guess, that is how she is incubating, with the humidty that is already present naturally.

I don't know if it would have made a difference, but do you suppose they did not have a sponsor for that color?

I bought a new copy sometime last spring. I have used in many times, and the kids just love it as they can look up a chicken, and they we discuss the difference in breeds. The first pages are worth every dime you pay for the SOP.

Guess I need to try this with my Rosecombs. That way I can take the males away from the females. Question that I have now is, how often do you inseminate the hens. Everyday, once a week?

I don't know thought I read it on the ABA website. I have never shown any of my birds. I will be getting my feet wet next month at a small show. All of my rosecombs are in breeder pens. So feather condition will not be good. But, I have to get chicks on the ground now for the fall shows I do...

I started using the ABA leg bands last year. You have to order your bands early, they will run out of one size. That happened to me, had to order the next size larger. I already have my bands for this year, I ordered early. You have to keep trying each week as the birds grow to get the bands...

Until I took over the rains here for the county 4H fair, they did use different people to judge the poultry. For the last 5 years we have hired only licensed APA, or ABA judges. Has made a big difference on the amount of kids in the poultry projects. Last year we had either 85, or 90 kids...

I don't know if any one is really looking for and older APA SOP, but if you are, I was just looking on Ebay, and there was several on that site. I believe I seen a 1902, 1915 1924, and a 1942. They are a little pricey, but so is a new one.

Good Morning, Just a quick note my incubator and hatcher are both reading 99.9 and 99.7. Humdity is from 62 to 65% on both machine's. I have one more question, I was wondering if we the general public should be refering to you as"Dr. Miller"? I also would like to know how many years young you...

I agree Mr. Miller, your knowlege is something that most of us will never be able to learn by ourselves. The information that you have given to me has been superb!!! Don't let some busy-body stop you from educating the rest of us. That's why there are so many sub-standard birds out in real...
