    I got my lamps at the local feed store--I use heat lamps in them so it was important to get fixtures with porcelain sockets.

    I started the babies in a galvanized washtub, then moved them into this one I made. It's 2 sheets of 3/8-inch plywood cut in half. 4x4 ft. by 2 ft. high. I put the strings on top as a visual block to keep them from flying out as they got big enough. There were 15 chicks in here until they were 6...
