If anyone near Wicomico county is interested in raising their own meat, I got ten warmer chicks in my order last week. Is grow them out myself but it isn't a good time. Hopefully the house will be sold before they reach butcher weight.
I just mean some of the information about their birds and other information on the website is inaccurate. For instance, anyone who could be taken seriously as a breeder of quality Marans would not call them "Maran" nor say that the American standard does not call for feathered shanks. It is nice...
That's a really good price for Ameraucanas. Seeing them put "Maran", their low prices, and some of the other stuff on the site makes me feel iffy about them, though.
I buy my feed at southern states but get my shavings at TSC because they're cheaper there, especially if you wait for a sale or have a neighbor's club coupon.
I have some favorites that I plan to take with me and then once we get settled i might add a few more to it. I don't think I'll go back to 100+ again, though!
Do you mean Sharpsburg? I'm not a MD native so I'm not good with counties lol. Anyway, that one is April 21st. What are you looking for and where are you located? I'm moving to Texas this summer so I have the very hard task of downsizing my flock :(

Well, I have 73 birds but some don't count ;) : 28 are chicks (2 large fowl and the rest bantam). They are being grown out and the majority will be sold. 4 are adult guineas - 2 pairs, and their eggs are incubated and the babies sold. 5 are juvenile guineas. I have two large fowl cockerels and...
I was just thinking about it and I think that blue egg I am getting is actually from my Lavender Ameraucana. She is not very red in the face so I did not think she is laying yet but she is mating and I just did the math and, based on what the breeder told me when I bought her, she is 9 months...
I have a Barnevelder and a Jersey Giant from Hoovers in March and neither is laying yet. The JG looks to be getting close, though. I don't think my Speckled Sussex that I got in Feb from Cackle is either but I can't say for sure. The EE I got with her is laying, though.
If anyone is looking to get into Olandsk Dwarf, I have a pullet here on the Eastern Shore to sell. I might take her to a swap this Saturday but I would really like her to go to someone who wants to start breeding this rare breed.
