Welcome to the new Md members!
That looks great, Shannon!
Was in the Frederick Southern States today They have several breeds of chicks now and are getting another shipment this week. Meanwhile the Mount Airy TSC is selling out the ones they have left which are mostly leghorns and them there...
I have been to several. I have only bought chicks and from good, known breeders with no issues. You can go and have a great time for just a few dollars. Remember don't wear the same clothes used to care for your flock there-including shoes- and to change again when you get back!
I was told at a swap meet that if your table eggs are fertile, you wouldn't need to apply for selling them. Another reason to keep a rooster if you can.
wonder if that has changed...
lol. You aren't the only one here who has asked that question!
And my flock/girls are living near Monrovia. Just hope I can keep them.... Finally the owl, hawk and fox are gone and we finally have olive eggs, blue eggs, chocolate eggs and shades of brown all at the same time. I will post in...
HI Maeschak,
Thank you! I appreciate it! Ok, So another curve ball... where I keep my chickens has a new development going in across the street. I may have to sell off my flock and I'll know in about 2 weeks. Meantime is anyone looking for POL Americaunas, Lavender Orpington, or Bielefielder...
That's fine. My family was given a bad fast curve ball late last week so I wouldn't have been able to do anything this past weekend.
Yes! Please do let me know. If they are close to being grown out, I maybe able to talk a friend into processing them if he gets some. I can only hope and ask...
I likely will in the late winter have eggs and/or chicks from my trio. They are just starting to lay now. It takes them 6 months to get up and going. Same with my Bielefelders, I hope! Both came from good breeders and NPIP,AI, etc. stock. I may also post for selling some fertile eggs that would...
How old are they now? May be interested but need to check on a few things and need to know what general area you are in. It's a long shot but worth thinking about. Just so you know they would become dinner.
LOl. That is like getting chicks before building a coop! Good for you! Check the pound for rabbits when you are ready. I see many rabbits there when I go to mine. And now I know it wasn't you was walking around with had a small dog in her large hand bag carrying a rabbit she just bought.
That's funny because I asked someone if they were on BYC trying to see if I could meet you!! I got there late and sold my chicks within minutes! I had one hatch out at 10 am. So I couldn't open it until after it did. Sadly that meant the other 3 eggs likely won't hatch in the Brinsea bcs of...
I'll be there! We will have a some day old--even hours old!- chicks for sale! You can look for Aquabarrel truck and we should be nearby- Stephanie and Holly. I might not be there by 8 as my chicks are still hatching out at 3 am!
You are welcome! They had/have Auracana pullets at $3.30 over the weekend. The feed(s) is organic. It was about $22 for a 50# badge over the weekend for their grand opp penning of the store. If you are going to the swap, they will be there. You could likely order, pay & pickup at the swap. :-)
Garden Nut, Not sure where you are but you could try Dawson Gap Farm, in Hilldboro,VA.- dawsongap.com- in NoVA. They just opened a store and are online and they are going to the swap.
Thanks, Chikitychick! She was just killed by a hawk this past week. Sigh. We miss her even though they live at a wonderful friend's home.
My buff is still alive though.
