Yeah it was but I looked at it as an investment as should last forever, mite free and can be pressure washed easily I have mine in a set place as i have a small garden so they are on wood chippings and straw in house
They are in the garage at the moment just for my benefit they were out all last...
I use bog standard bark chips in my quail run in their eglu and straw in their house. I moved them into the garage for winter this year just easier and used deep litter in there with no problems was good for 3 months then I changed it only really cos was getting a bit too deep but smell was fine...
They are in the garage but I don't leave the light on only have it on if getting something from the freezer, put on some washing on or feeding them it's off the rest of the time!
I'm all set for Xmas the quails prezzies are all wrapped up ready they seem to be confused I have got about 12 eggs in last 2 weeks when they aren't ment to laying silly monsters :hmm
@Yorkshire Coop. Bunnies depending on size usually live for 5 to 7 years the smaller ones usually live longer but my bunny was nearly 4kg so was a big bunny so he did really well I'm a vet nurse and have been for nearly 17 years so he was a tad spoilt. But I know he had a good life
They are...
How many boys and girls did you get or are they not old enough to tell yet ? X I only have quails at the mo but I want to get a small flock of female bantams in the future maybe 5 or 6 but I think I will need to move further out as I have close neighbours so would be worried about noise and also...
Thanks he was an amazing boy he was nearly 10 years old and had only had an ear infection about 5 months ago and that was it so perfect bunny really :love
The squailies seems to be liking it but the boy is being a bit annoying and chasing the girls but hopeful it will all calm down again
My bunny had to be put to sleep last week so I cleaned out the garage and got a new metal run and moved the quails to garage for winter to stop the water freezing and make it easier for me to clean them out etc so this is their new winter cottage they seem pretty happy still getting some eggs too :)
The website recommends 2 to 4 medium sized chickens or 2 to 3 larger breeds I have a 2 metre run on mine but can get up to 4 metre run if you want. X
I would get a eglu cube I think as more room in coop if or when I get some chickens but would have to move first though x :)
