BO don't live long in my (hot) climate. they are not good mothers here as they get hot and don't cover the chicks. I had british type BO and she got broody at 6 mo. unfortunately half of her chicks died as she kept getting up and panting. she also died in july at about 8 mo. -

that's the only thing people used in the past (besides manure). they grew veggies on the same plot without any issues and didn't destroy soil. -

collect seeds when they are ready and use them in pickles. also you can start some dill from seed for fresh leaves. I would not freeze it and dry dill would be ok to use but almost has no scent. -

I've read that beans will have stunt growth if planted near onions and garlic. you will tell us if that's true. -

@jerryse I have musquee de provence (cucurbita moschata?) and 2 varieties of cucurbita pepo (HULL-LESS and ISTANBUL).
