700 posts... no way I'll get to them. Hope I didn't miss too much. Too much going on here lately but will try to at least check in once every day or so.
So the turkeys are both still alive but the hen has a respiratory issue. She is separated until I can sort it out.
The duck's foot is...
It's more than that now. The quote that I was given was almost $220. I have elected to forego the xray and save almost $50 off the total tab. The analytical part of me told me to just sell her for $25 to someone who wanted a nice peking duck dinner and save myself the added bill. I still...
Who's the poultry vet in Colorado Springs? I'm tired of trying to non-evasively get rid of the bumblefoot in qwackette. At this point, I'm not sure if she keeps getting bumble or I just haven't cleared it up enough from last year. I would try the bumblefoot surgery but with ducks, the...
If I had a little pond, they would be so easy as they love being outside all the time. A friend of mine is contemplating building a little pond on her property and has promised to take my pekings. I'd keep the little runner as she isn't much different than a chicken and needs a lot less space...
I've been trying to find a nice home for mine for well over a year. =) I have resigned myself to the fact that I will never find a place that will not eat them and don't have the heart to send them to their deaths because they really are gentle creatures. So that leaves me attempting to...
I placed another ton order in and it should be here by Thursday. they gave me the same price as last time, 14.25 per bag, 20percent layer feed. pm me if interested.
Mine are laying better than normal and I just assumed those that had stopped for the winter have finally started to earn their keep. My ducks are the surprise though. Both are laying everyday right now.
[/IMG] Two of my roos with another in the distance and pretty boy behind the outside coop. I just gave them all watermellon.
pretty boy. He's the son of my black beauty. He's very gentle and still comes to me so I can hold him and love on him.
olive egger roo. The pictures...
I was told that the woman off of Woodmen, who does the horse boarding right before Falcon Center (big, dilapidated red barn) rehomes roosters and just lets them forage on her land. As far as I know, she doesn't eat them.
Stay away from the guy who wants them in Peyton as he just takes them...
Lost the panope and have one more olmec cuddled in my shirt as its close to the end now. That'll be 6 of 12 that didn't make it. But I believe it'll be the last as the others appear to be growing and eating normally.
I just pm'd you. Sorry it took so long to answer. I have a tendency of reading them via email on my phone and then waiting until later to respond via email. Sometimes I just get sidetracked and don't email on time. You are always welcome to call me.
I have had good responses from people...
I lost two more of the olmecs last night and one more isn't doing so well. I'm beginning to worry that perhaps maybe, olmecs won't do so well up here. The colloncas appear to be doing fine and the little panope is zipping all over the place.
I'm going to buy some medicated feed, even though...
sorry, using the app. the ones inside when I lost so many 5 weeks ago are getting big. they are all mostly black with muffs and feathered legs. pozees 2 cochins that I have are almost indistinguishable from mine, only a chicken person could tell the difference. I suspect that means...
broody mama with her babies roosting. she still tries to cover them with her wings. edit: mama was a black star. the greys h have muffs so are most likely olive eggers. the black is most likely a marans cross hen. I placed 11 under her, only 3 survived the dog attack/ her weight...
