Honestly I want an everything-negative flock :) MS was never diagnosed for me, but I certainly don't want it either. Whitmore farms does test for it as well. So here is hoping...
Thanks so much. No, I want an MG negative flock. I am going to see about learning to do the blood draws and figuring out how to send in my own samples so I can test on a regular basis. I want MG as far from my flock as possible.
Hi everyone - Sally, Oz all the regulars and new regulars :) I have missed you. I haven't kept up with BYC except for my one sad thread about my sick birds. Got hubby through all the surgeries, chemo and radiation. Finally faced the music and culled the last 70 survivors of my MG positive...
Hi guys, sorry so quiet. The cancer fight is taking all I have to give. Chickens still dying too - I think we are down to 50% or less alive :( Is it OK for me to share the cancer fundraiser page I just made on GiveForward?

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been on much lately. Hubby's cancer is my main focus right now of course. But wanted to share my happy pic with people who could appreciate them :) A bunch of my ladies have started laying this week so I finally have something to show for all my work, stress, etc...
Oh no :( I had a similar experience and came to the same conclusion. I started just turning the turner off, lining it with paper towels and putting the eggs back on top. I kept the paper towels damp for humidity and it seemed to work soooo much better.

Trying to distract myself from the fact that I now have I think 20 dead chickens so far from this unknown "plague" while I wait for more info from the necropsy lab.... I thought I'd take a picture of my pretty eggs. Can't believe my girls have kept laying through the weather change, fowl pox...
I actually chased a red tailed hawk away from my yard with a garden hose.... and I was screeching a hawk scream like a little banshee to make my birds go scrambling for cover, LOL! It was on a long approach from our back pond, swooping in to my free range area with talons out, aiming for...
I noticed last night that the one of the biggest and seemingly healthiest of the new baby chicks was acting weird. Running fast into the wall of the brooder, spinning in circles, having little head jerks, twists and bobs, tripping and falling over its own feet. I thought maybe a neurological...
Well the cold chick did die :( And I had one of the 13 hatchlings have to get put down. It was the very first to hatch ( I have a curse with first born chicks) and I don't think it's lungs were fully formed. I think it hatched prematurely, maybe because something was wrong - I don't know. Its...
