Exactly it's normal for chickens to do this when broody and she's only had her chicks now 3 days. It doesn't go away over night. And it doesn't mean they are unhealthy either it means they are broody and have been on their eggs for a while. although mine was on golfballs, still same effect...

Every broody hen i've had shoots their poop out instead of getting off the nest all the way. No it's not hummingbird water it's water and food color. As i stated before my niece and nephew like to color the water. All my chickens are vetted and are completely healthy. edited by staff

It's red food color in the water, my niece and nephew like doing that it doesn't hurt the chicks. The jar is very dirty thanks to the hen. she enjoys shooting her poop and even washing it daily it ends up like that after an hour *sigh* she aims her butt at it.

Beautiful muscovies. I haven't found where mine are nesting in my yard. But i've come to the conclusion they are nesting somewhere when free and i'm just not finding it anywhere. Hopefully the dogs will leave it alone and they will hatch out.

Yes and no. I have experience with only being able to hold down liquids and due to this have been able to get most of the nutrition I need to survive with only liquid. My suggestion is get something with protein for the morning. Either hemp protein, or a protein shake. Then I drink V8...
