I spoke with him about a month or so ago. I plan on getting over to pick up a year-old cock from him if he still has any. Was waiting for my ankle to heal enough since I have had to help him catch them before when I got grown birds from him. ;)

I am still here, though not often. I am back in school and it takes up a lot of my time, and I took a year off from doing my usual chicken overloading. I am looking forward to setting the lights on time in about a month and getting eggs set in December for some January hatching to get show...

Hey Peeps! How many of you have feathers flying all over your yard? It's that time of year, thin shells, bleaching skin and feathers dropping and new ones coming in, otherwise known as molting season! If you all have some funny pictures to share, post them here!

That's fantastic! You gotta start somewhere and it sounds like you all got a good one! The kids will need to study if they want to someday go to state fair. There is an interview portion of going up to state that all members must participate in when they get there. There is a written test...

Hello, folks! I hope all is well in the world of chickendom in Minnesota! I am finding thinner shells and an abundance of feathers laying around these days. Time for molting season! In fact, one Buckeye hen is half naked and molting furiously. That is a good thing though. She is turning...

Wouldn't it be nice if the broodies would just do their thing during the early Spring when we really want them hatched out? No, they wait until June or July.

I have a stubborn one right now too, a Buckeye, that is. Then there is a broody Cornish too. I am considering giving them eggs too.

I got a start on the mower again today for this week's round. Hubby was fixing the grass collector while I went around the trees and places it is tough to take that thing around. I should rake up what is in the pasture paddocks, but I doubt I will get to it before it rains. I need to get the...

I would say give them a few weeks. You will see noticeable differences in time.

@Drea07 how old are they? I think they are too young for telling by size if I remember correctly.

Oh, and Holm, I was also thinking maybe he would like one of those heavy balls that horses play with. I can just see him pushing one around and playing like a little kid. LOL

Great plan, but never let your guard down with a bull EVER! We hand raised a bull one time, my brother and I mainly. His name was Clyde. He was gentle as could be until he hit 2-years old and we turned him onto pasture for clean-up. He cornered my brother in the hay rack and was starting to...

Are you certain you haven't got any boys? That would be absolutely remarkable to not get a cockerel, even if you ordered them sexed! In fact, the accuracy of professional chick sexers is only about 85%. I would say you hit it big if you got that many pullets.

I just bought a quarter beef off a young man I know through 4-H. We have yet to eat any of it, but it looks good. I was shocked to see that they gave us the entire brisket in ONE piece though. I like the locker he was done at because they shrink wrap and you get to see what is in the package...

He is a good looking bull, Holm. You need to get some toys and a scratcher for him!

It is a good thing I started my tomatoes and peppers late because it is going to be too cold and wet to put them out until June 1st or so. Onions are coming along, so are the potatoes and the cabbage family and peas I started from seed outside. Garlic is looking amazing!
