Welcome to BYD! I don't have chickens so I'm not sure about that. I'm around 3 hours from Minneapolis, but I know a couple people raising birds in that area.
I'm about a hour and twenty minutes from there, but I do have a trio of crossbreed bantams (one male, two females) that are available. And a few OEGB chicks, but they are only a few weeks old.
I'll post pics! We have two oranges, one really cool lilac, and 5 brown, black, and orange ones!

Oh it isn't hard at all. Over the winter they my ducks didn't always have water, we just let them out several times a day to drink, then put them back in, unless it was a warmer day and they were outside. That way there was less mess in the barn.
