    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I would love to hatch something in the incubator, but have too many birds now. Besides letting my goose hatch a few muscovies nobody else will be allowed to hatch this year. I have quite a few regular broodies. If anyone would like some laying hens (not free) pm me.

Okay, thanks. I'll keep them through winter. I have a small group of chickens in a shed that I'll use for the quail once this group of chickens live out their lives. They'll have outdoor access too.

Is anyone interested in Cotton Patch goslings? My goose has gone broody since Thursday. If anyone is interested in goslings, I will check fertility and put the eggs in an incubator. I can't let her hatch and raise any, since I don't want anymore geese at this time. Here are some links about...

I don't know where the Cambry area is, but Honeyville Feed which is just south of Shipshewana sells organic feed, but I don't know about pellets. Their phone number is: 269-593-9943.

Fortunately I've saved loads of eggs in the freezer, so I know I won't need to purchase anyone else's eggs. So glad I saved them up. I even have hard boiled ones saved for snacks for the chickens over the winter.

I haven't had a dog for 11years, and was inspired to get one. After much reading about different breeds and what attributes would be most desirable, I decided that a poodle (toy or mini) would be the best fit. I searched for a reputable breeder with certain specifications and found a breeder...

Husband was bow hunting and shot a deer because her hind leg was badly broken and she was suffering. He came home to get flashlights and I came along. We found her that night and she was resting. Went back in the morning and she was dead. Didn't retrieve the carcass, just left it.

Finally went out and did something exciting! But it involved getting lost in a woods in the dark. It was our woods and we weren't lost very long.

@Nyla Looks like a good plan. You'll have to watch that it doesn't get too warm during the winter on days that are sunny.

Sounds like roundworms. I had a male chick once that had roundworms. He was very thin so I had him and his sister in the garden with me so they could forage, then when I saw him poo, I saw many roundworms. I used Safeguard goat wormer. I did the math to reduce the amount for chicks, and...

You'll need 6-10 hens per rooster and if keeping the entire group together you could still have problems of one rooster trying to kill the other one. To keep peace you'll need a lot of free range space, and I mean a lot. Don't keep them in a run, unless you plan to separate into groups with...

Here is my cockerel boy that is available for $20.00 to an approved home. His background breeds are: Buff Orpington, Dominique, Ameraucana, Rose Comb RIR, and Production Red. He has been fed only organic and chemical free grain, no soy and a lot of free range time.

I have only one rooster to either re-home, or butcher. I'll post a pic of him later. I always didn't look forward to the time of year for rooster butchering. It's heartbreaking to butcher when it's a nice boy and there's no place to keep him.

I had a buff boy that was special needs, and big and cuddly. He wasn't English, but looked like in between American and English. His life was too short.

That's sad. I love English Orpingtons, although I don't have any.

The articles may include this, but if not: DO NOT purchase a pre-fab coop from TSC or another farm store. They are inadequate to house as many birds as they say, and so cheaply made they will likely only last one year, unless a predator tears it apart first. Our first coop was purchased as a...
