Patrick, it's been a helluva long time. I've been doing other stuff. I'm an addictive personality. Full on project A; drop project A, full bore project B, etc. Then loop back to dropped projects. Right now, I'm in the process of building a CNC router. I have it completed; just trying to get...

In my opinion, by the time you buy all the stuff to make your own incubator, you could buy one at Rural King and have something that you could resell if you don't like it. Homemade incubators are nearly impossible to resell and may or may not work well, depending on your skill/knowledge...

My nipples freeze in cold weather. I use 5-gallon water buckets with nipple waterers in the bottom. I put stock tank heaters in them to keep the water from freezing. It works, but the nipples freeze, defeating any advantage. Cold weather, I gotta carry buckets of water, but I don't have to...

Yes. I progressed out of that filthy house without contracting the plague. Although, it's not filthy now. She moved in. Yeah! All three chicks back in the central Indiana nest! And 10 grand chillins. John

My neighbor, Mel, pulls discarded vegetables from a grocery store dumpster and brings them home and keeps them in his garage. He then fixes up a daily bucket full and walks over to my chicken yard and dumps them in the chicken yard. When the chickens see him coming from 600 feet away...

Howdy, all!!!!!!!!!!! I am 908 postings behind. I am skipping them all. I got my daughter's house in Noblesville at Moorse reservoir remodelled. It took 5 sheets of drywall, 10 gallons of spackle mud and a hell of a lot of time and sanding to fill all the holes, dents, BB gun holes, nail...

I have a great deal of genealogy information on my computer. It is irreplaceable. Every week or 2, I backup the Genealogy folder, Documents folder, Photos folder, and several others to a 32 gig SD card which I keep in my pocket. If disaster befalls, I have all my info in my pocket. If...

It is probably not lost. The hard drive inside your computer likely still has all your info on it. Take it to the computer lab at your school and ask them to remove it and check to see if your files are still there. They will attach it to another computer as a secondary drive. They can then...

If you poke a hole in both ends, about 1/8" in diameter and piercing the yolk, you can blow hard on one of the holes and the egg contents will come out the other hole. This is called a blown egg shell. Put it somewhere to dry for a few days and it'll keep for years. John

If you are moving coop and all, the only thing they will notice is that they now have fresh, un-pooped-on grass. John

I sent a taunt out to racinchickins concerning egg production. If you ask him nicely, I'm sure he would share it with you. John

My 3 Indian Runner ducks were dropping 1 or 2 per day until a week ago when they stopped. Haven't gotten one since. I have 24 hens and have been getting 16-18/day. I have 1 Labrador Retriever and get nothing from her. John

Tossing eggs into the woods is inviting egg-eating varmints to your place. Scramble the eggs shells and all and recycle them to your chickens or dogs. Better to run them down the garbage disposal than toss them. John

Yes. Get a pouch-in-the-front style baby carrier. Put the chicken in it and stich it shut with only an opening for the bird to stick out it's head. Carry her everywhere with you, only taking her out at roost time. After 3 weeks, let her go. She will be tame. Or, possibly, attack and kill...

Push the heat tape down into the goo to the bottom of the trash can. It will waste no heat that way. You could wrap the can with insulation or a blanket to better retain heat. John
