It might be the size of the pen. At least when I had roosters the roosters had the largest free ranging area of my yard so maybe 1/4 of an acre. Now they had to share that area with many roosters but I rarely had them penned except at night.

@Leahs Mom I do want a rooster or two. They would just be hanging out with my goats. I like the sound of the roosters and I have an area I'm trying to fill in with wood chips. I'm sure the roosters would have fun scratching the newest pile of chips in the goat yard. If I had the money I'd...

@Leahs Mom he was just sleeping in the back of the truck when they arrived. Happy as could be. He got real sad when they left though. He was attached to his prior owner. She had bottle fed him and raised him up since the day he was born, I think. It was heart breaking to have to put him...

I'd treat them like large guard dogs. When my goat was delivered to me he was a large adult and he rode quietly in the back of a pickup truck.

They do both. Right now we pen them up at night and milk in the morning for their bottles but after milking they nurse during the day as they desire.

I can give one or two roosters a home. It would be more of a summer and fall home I suspect But there is a chance that they would become pets and make it through the winter. They would be free ranged and live with goats. So a very happy life up until that one bad day.

I think they will work out great. I'm looking for more of a toss in the washer kind of shoe. Something fast to slip on to make a quick trip outside to catch a kid. Sometimes its a toddler kid and sometimes it is a goat kid so slip on and washable around here is best. I'm all for sales but I...

I can provide him a home for the summer but when the cold weather comes I'll make stew or pot pie.

All caught up on the many many posts I had fallen behind in reading. lots of little critters here for the children to play with and learn about. One of our goats kidded, and the cat had kittens. Spring time is just so perfect for new animals.
