As far as notifications, once you stop interacting with a thread the notifications stop appearing. I look at watched threads to see if I've missed anything on a tgread I am interested in.

Thanks. She is doing well. She is sweet and feisty. @Faraday40 sorry to hear that. I had a hawk land in the yard about 10' away from my ducks yesterday looked like he was figuring out my muscovies. I was cleaning out the chicken coop and rushed over to herd them back into the run and he flew...

I am copying a post from another thread rather than write it all out again. It's my post, so I can do that right? Why do chickens come attached with so much drama? So, the lighter colored EE had a feather sticking up weird on her breast area. I've noticed it since we got her. I thought it was...

If you really want to find her a new home, maybe call a local shelter to see if they would have anyone looking for that type of dog while you keep her. I've seen ads like that. Or post a flier around area shops and such that are local to you. Craigslist is ok, but then you might have to turn...

Um, brrrrrrrr. How did I miss that we were getting some sort of arctic blast? I am glad I set up for winter weeks ago when it was still warm.

That and my smelly ducks ... Here's what they do while I'm doing chores. Also, got some 7 month old Easter Eggers yesterday to add to my chicken flock.

When I was in high school my dad converted a small camper to a coop. But, that was at a time when I wasn't interested in "smelly" chickens. :p

A question for muscovy owners - I have 3 ducks and 1 drake (related). They do well, except one of my ducks are the odd duck out and she gets picked on by the other 2 females. I am thinking of adding another female so that she might have a buddy. Should I let one if them hatch a brood in spring...

Amazing that the drakes outnumber the hens by that large of a ratio.

Are these drakes all from one hatching? How many females did you get?

Maybe it was the move? Maybe you just need a few more silkies. :p Always a good reason to get more chickens.

Nice looking flock @Brick2429 . Would your friend have another silkie to add to the mix? Or maybe it was separated from a silkie (or another chicken) that it was fond of?

Right after I took these pics, the drake attacked the cockerel and then I spent at least 30 min trying to wrangle all the chickens up. Guess the chickens won't be free ranging until the corn comes down. Because once they are in there nothing entices them to come out. :th
