YAY! So glad to see! My daughter was thrilled too—-she was the one who rooted and cared for it/them. Ours looks very good too. We’ve got a tomato cage around it for support.
Line of storms went thru here last night, we got up at 11 pm watching local weather coverage. There was a tornado in our county, one down by Joplin. Sirens were going and we were prepared to go to basement. But it passed thru quickly and we got the all clear. Everything looks okay here this...
3” of rain yesterday, more coming. We had a sudden hailstorm around 7 pm. All the older flock went in when it got really dark just before and I closed them in. The young bantams, who have their own coop, just stayed outside. I ran inside, got soaked.
Heartland Hatchery which is near KC also does traveling chick days, that’s mainly how they sell chicks. I got my EE bantams from them when they were in our area.

Do you have poultry swaps in your area? I live in SW area, Barton County and follow 2 swaps on FB. People are always offering chicks, or people often ask for breeds they want, in poultry, goats etc. Or try craigslist.
Call them and ask! Do you live near Lebanon? I’ve been there to pick up an order, but I follow them on Facebook and they are often announcing sales on excess chicks…
