Some crazy hairdos going on. Boy are Houdan males skittish.. They always think someone is after them or out to get them. Polar opposites from the females.

Yes I liked her as well. It's very unfortunate that she was in the barn when I lost my entire flock. But I have her sisters and brothers. That will have to do. She looked about the same at their age as well. I can't seem to find any young pictures of her.. but here is another when she was...

It's been a week, but just saw you guys are doing Houdans... I want to join in, but my Houdans are very young - only 16 weeks.. Lost my older ones in the fire. From the same line though. He's preening here, excuse the poses.. .He is my favourite looking one. Mottling is still not all in yet...

White Wyandotte bantams do so well at our shows.. Merle Watson is usually the winner of the wyandotte bantams around here... These are not my birds, but I don't recall seeing any white Wyandottes posted here.. Thought it was necessary :)

That's what he said. I imagine it would have been tiring judging all those birds! Where can I find show results?

I'd for one like to see your picture of split wing. It's a DQ I have not yet seen in my own birds.

The whole upper row looks crow to me, but from the least extreme to the extreme (from left being least extreme, a little more, and extreme).

Ever need any help with it, I'm more than happy to assist :) Now I'm going to see if any of my birds have this type of head. ETA: Well.. can't see any with it through my pictures.. Someone mentioned Crows head is a sign of an unhealthy bird? Is that true?

The first picture and the second picture look like totally different birds. Are they the same guy? You said "cock bird" which made me think you were talking about only one. They are beautiful to me Wynette. I love the pencilling.

Fred, a few of these males don't appear to have wings tight to their body. Why is that? I know weak wing is a huge issue people are working on with fancy breeds (like silkies) and I see it in my rocks as well (the boys). The first picture in that post by Robert has tight wings, but all the...

Fred, Wonder why there is no illustration above of squirrel tail. It is so very common.

Fred, Yep. I'll do that. The white rock bantams in NB are something else. They do very well. The maritimes didn't show any standard plymouth rocks at our provincial show last fall, but NS has nice white rocks. There is this guy in NS named Derek Fulton, who has this rock on the NS Purebred...

If I look up his name and with rocks in it, I find nothing. Frank Reese, I find tons and tons of pictures of drool worthy rocks. Same with Stukel. Can you direct me to where I would contact him? We are having Canadian Nationals in NB next fall, and I would seriously consider his rocks if I...

I wasn't sure if I would participate in the rocks or not.. But I think I will. We don't have the same strains of rocks you guys do in the US, and from research, Circle Pond Farms in Nova Scotia was my best bet. I purchased chicks. I wasn't planning on showing them, but did want to breed them...
