My drake chased my 40lb tom turkeys around. That drake found a new home because the turkey wasn't the only one he wanted to chase. New drake and ducks live in the barn with chickens, turkey, goose and goats. I think it would depend how they are raised. My tom is a easy going guy do no...

My ducks, goose, turkey, chickens and even the goats eat 22% layer pellets. They all free range together. They get kitchen scraps and treats. I haven't had anybisdyes with any of them. Now the goat people will ho crazy to hear me say that but they would leave their food for the birds do I...

If all they do is sleep I think they would be fine in there. I'm not sure about temperature in your area I imagine hot. Would they over heat in a closed up house? My 5 ducks and goose sleep in a pile in the barn. They have plenty if room, but still stay close together.

Mine started laying at about 5 months and could fly enough to fly over the chickens to get to the food first when I opened the barn door, but sadly not enough to get away from a fox.

Didn't all those breeds originate from mallards? My guess would be the hidden genes came out in the cross.

I'm in the south. The hawks are big. Everyone gets locked up at night. All the loses are coming from free range flocks. The coops haven't been touched. I'm thinking they are being hit at the back near creek. Fox usually go for the cats and kittens first. Things will be locked and loaded...

Well I'm in Georgia and its parasite central. To treat them we use nail polish. I use bleach it burns like heck but it makes the itch stop. As a preventative I use bug spray with DEET. I don't put anything on yard or chickens just us. Mostly clothing. On a visor, hat, to keep the gnats out of...

How many eggs is she sitting on. I know nothing of the breed, but with any new Mama a few babies say 4 or 5 don't over whelm them as much as a large number.

I hope my experience puts you at ease some. I had a Cayuga drake. I never saw him breed anything, but the goose who would run in front of him and lay down. My duck eggs were fertile so he was doing his job. My goose went broody. I gave her duck and turkey eggs. He got so protective of her I...
