This may sound weird but those are two of the nicest looking ducks I've ever seen. My neighbor has a few rouens but the colors aren't that distinct and are speckled a bit. Fawn and white Indian runners always look good though. But your ducks look very clean too! Mine play in the mud all day so I...

get the nice house especially if it's fenced in. But if there's room under the fence I'd put so chicken wire under because cats got to one of my ducks one time ( or at least I think it was a cat)

Hey I used to live and town and had ducks for 2 years actually I never got in any trouble. All my neighbors loved the ducks especially the ones with young kids. Even if you do its just a small fine and at that point give them away :) I think you can have the best of both worlds

no problem I'm certainly no expert. But I'll repeat again you are awfully lucky to have a wood duck and you must be taking great care of it because I've read about how difficult wood ducks can be to take care of!

sorry to question you again but i think you may be in luck because juvenile males are very similar colors although their eyes will have turned red! Like I said I'm probably wrong but if you were hoping for a female you may be in luck

Hmmm well you are lucky! Anyway are you sure that's male?? I'm not doubting you I'm probably wrong. How old is he? Maybe just hasn't developed the colors yet.

Also I must add that I have a five week old male Cayuga right now too that is very friendly so the other Cayuga would not be missed. And I don't want anyone getting bad ideas about the breed it's just the one duck!

So there is a male Cayuga in my flock that has drown a mate in the past. Other than eating and drinking all it wants to do is mate, and aggressively I might add. The problem is that it picks a favorite female and constantly harasses that one! Since its other favorite died all it does is try mate...
