oh good! She has about 9 eggs in there now. She is stealing everyones eggs. I have 2 other laying Duck hens so there are 3 eggs added a day. I figured she would start sittign at about 16 eggs.
So I think our Duck may be going broody? I am not sure. She is not sitting on the eggs yet. Every morning when I go to collect everyone eggs I have to uncover them. I am leaving the Ducks eggs just to see if she is going broody. Once she sits on them I am going to replace them with Chicken eggs...
so our duck eggs are the same size of our chicken eggs, I almost mistook them as our LEghorn eggs! but you can see the difference in the yolk size. chicken egg on bottom top two are duck eggs, not sure why the one is yellow and not orange..
We got our first duck egg today from our Mallard So happy! She is 21 weeks.

we have 8 chickens and 5 ducks. The Chickens are 17 weeks and past 2 days I have got 2 eggs from them. Today went out to the coop and found another egg but its a bit bigger. is this a Duck egg? I have 3 hens, 2 KC's and one Mallard they are 20 weeks. here are the pictures comparing them.
I have 2 Khaki Campbell's and they are too heavy to fly, mine are only a month old so haven't started to lay yet but have heard they are good layers. They were bred to be exceptional layers. as for the noise? They don't make any more noise than my Mallards. they are quit for the most part unless...

well they outgrew the 50 gallon plastin bin I had them in..So I used the dogs X-Pen and covered it with chicken wire and lined bottom with tarp, used the usual pine shaving for the bottom :) they LOVE it! they have room to run around now!

Well got two more ducklings...we got khakis we think...they are only 4 days older than our mallards and are huge in comparison. well we let them all swim in the bath tub tonight...poor babies haven't ever been in water i don't think,they didn't know how to swim. they watched the mallard and...
