I like that show too, but, one of my ultimate BBC favorites is Dr. Who. I used to watch it years and years ago, when I was a kid, on PBS. I really wish our public TV would start playing "Are you being served" again. Loved that show!

When mine started laing I would not let them out until after noon, did this for a month or two now they only lay where they are supposed to. But, that was also before the hot weather (at least here).

Muscovies are larger than the other two I think. I have heard they can kill the others if the male tries to breed with a female of another breed due to their size. I house mine with guineas so I am not sure about how they get along with other ducks.

I have muscovy ducks and rarely see my males fight, but the other day a couple of females really had it out. I was going to step in but they gotvit figured out before I. got into my shoes.

I have muscovy. I have toyed with the idea of adding other kinds, but these are so quiet. A very big contradiction to my guineas. So, not sure if I want to add a lot of noise right now or not?

We were mentioning on the So.Dak forum about space and confinement, seems as though the bigger flocks (commercial) have the flu around here and you just don't hear about it in the back yard flocks. But, I am sure part of that is they aren't as monitored by the media.

Mine like water ok. They stand in the rain and don't want to go in, even though they are dripping wet. So, I keep the heat lamp in the brooder house on when we are getting the weather we are now; highs in the 60's and rain. South Dakota has crazy weather this year. Went from too dry to...

Saw something funny this morning and thought I'd share. I let my birds (muscovy ducks and guineas) and as the one female went out she did something she must have learned from the guineas. She puffed up her head/chest and charged one of the guineas. I don't know if this is because they (the...

I grew up with chickens, can't really stand them much anymore. I wanted something different so I got muscovy ducks and some guineas. I had the guineas hatch a few eggs last weekend and one of my ducks started sitting on a nest late last week, so I am hoping for the best in a few weeks. She's...

But, with muscovys you get the size difference at a point that means there really isn't much guessing.

That would be great except for the bird flu thing that is going around right now.

There was a guy who put one of those "don't buy..." signs because there were so many people buying acerages next to farms, some of which had been there over 100 years, and then would go to the county and complain about this very thing.

I also thought my killer might have been a raccoon, but since removing the cat I haven't had problems. I have a colony of coons across the street from me in an abandoned house. I have to shoot them walking across my yard on occasion.

I had to get a live trap and trap ferel cats that were killing my ducklings last summer, then I lined the areas that it had gotten in with chicken wire.

I had to laugh, a poultry party here means something completely different. It is where the people in town get together and play games (bingo, poker, etc...) for frozen turkeys and hams. I guess it's just a regional thing, kind of like mountain oysters.
