I went to browse...not sell. It was my first Gilmanor swap, and I must say, I was disgusted by a lot of what I saw. Don't get me wrong...I saw a lot of good stuff too, but the bad stuff...ugh, I will NEVER buy NOR sell at a swap like that...EVER.
Lemme give you guys some examples.
One guy...
I do, thankfully they're still babies :) BUT...this rain makes me re-think keeping them. I hatched out 4 Mille Fleur's and they already have feet COVERED with feathers and they're only 2 days shy of 2 weeks. I think I'm going to sell them...they don't "do anything" for me, you know...like strike...
I was told that originally, but when they started popping out of the eggs, some were not black. Some are yellow, some look like chipmunks. One is yellow with a couple of black spots on its back. If they are sexlink, how did I end up with those oddballs? LOL
Not sure if it's ok to post here...moderator, feel free to delete if I'm not supposed to.
Located in northwestern Goochland County, near Hadensville. Chicks just hatched Saturday. Easter Egger roo over Barred Rock hens. Straight run, $4.00 each, any pullets should lay blue or green eggs from...
I agree 100% with this statement. I don't care how good a roo is at protecting his flock, if he is aggressive towards ANY human, it's a one-way ticket to freezer camp. Some people say they have had success at curbing the aggression (by doing different things, like pushing roo down till he...
Here in NW Goochland County we got about 6 inches...I think. The wind blew so much that I couldn't get an accurate measurement of the snow...2 inches in one spot, 12 inches in another. Woke up this morning and our weather station's thermometer said it was 5.8 degrees outside. I just put my five...
Still looking for some hatching eggs from the following 2 breeds: Speckled Sussex and Silver Laced Wyandottes. I'm joining the Easter Hatch-A-Long and would like to add some of these eggs to my hatch! If anyone is located near me and has either of these breeds of fertile eggs, please let me...
I'm looking for some speckled sussex eggs and/or wyandottes (could care less about the color). Anyone around Goochland have any, or anyone who's not willing to ship????
April 20th. Chicken eggs need to be set on March 29th, to hatch out the day before Easter, which is the target hatch day.

Friendly advice to those of you who haven't slaughtered yet: Don't hesitate. Just do it, detach yourself emotionally except for giving thanks (to whomever or whatever your worship...for me it's the good Lord above, for others it may be mother nature) for providing the roo as a source to help...
Huh??? I've heard of no slaughtering before, but it was for pigs up in New England. No slaughtering if you plan on SELLING what you slaughter. I never heard of not being allowed to slaughter your bird on your own property. That's a new one to me! Glad that rule doesn't apply here where I live...
I am, but I'm close to you...off Shannon Hill Road, 2 miles from I-64. It was so cold this morning, I didn't go out and take care of the chickens and goats until the sun hit the coop and goat house, which was around 9 because of the trees. Too bloody cold, and I didn't want any heat that built...
I hear ya! I'm so ready for warmer weather! I love snow, but not when it's this bloody cold outside! Come on spring!
My Chocolate lab whelped on Thursday...was a nightmare having to take her out to go potty...so afraid she'd push pee and a pup would come out in the single digit temps! Thank...
I am! I love snow!
My chickens? Not so much.
What I hate is cold with no snow...don't mind the cold, as long as there's white stuff covering everything and making my property look so beautiful! No white stuff, then I hate cold and am ready for spring.
