    He should be alright as long as the humidity is up. I think you're supposed to leave them be until something like 30-40hrs? After that, you can try helping him out. He'll have to have absorbed that vein by then. Lol.

    Are you sure it's a vein? If it's that far out of the shell, maybe some bits just dried darker than the others making it look like it still has blood in it.

    Well, I'd say if the bleeding's stopped it should be okay with enough fluids. If not, try dabbing the hurt area with corn/potato starch. I think plain flour or ice water will work, too. What happened to make it bleed?

    The chickens are going to fine over here. It'll be in the 30's for a few days, but that's not too cold for a chicken. Just the little ones.

    Losing power again, granny? That's terrible! Remember when I mentioned getting some hand warmers last year? Maybe it's not too late to stock up. It could help with your chicks. Sorry for not posting on the other thread, btw. My laptop finally died, and I went out and got a new one yesterday...
