I posted an ad on my local craiglist. I had five or six people come by and buy some eggs, two of them stuck around and buy every egg I can spare. I have been selling my eggs to those two large familes for over a year now. At first, I was worried about the Craigslist killer coming to buy eggs...

All is well here, thanks for asking. I am seriously considering hitting the show in Smithfield this weekend too. I haven't been to one yet so I think it would be nice, especially since this one is so close to us.

I can't see the comb real good but it appears to be a version of a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, but not hatchery stock. I have seen a few breeders in North Carolina with this darker stock. I could be wrong but that's what I would put my money on.

Happens for me all the time too! Some people just dont get it, they think the world revolves only around them. I realize it everytime I drive in Fayetteville. The person driving below the speed limit in the fast lane, with a pile of cars behind them eager to get by. Ohhh I missed my turn into...

Wheeww, your not lying sister. Crispy is a great word for the description of my grass. This is the first year I have had to water. I don't keep a pretty yard but the girls do prefer grass over dirt.

That's Great! My neighbors laugh at me, watching me chase small pullets and cockerals around the yard (because they have found a hole somewhere in the coop fencing)... with a fish net. Handy suckers to have!

Good Luck with the snakes. Sorry to hear they have found your nesting boxes, Im sure it will be back. It could have been worse though, maybe have been poisonous and bit you or the girls. I hear you on the cloning thing, I need two of me also. One to handle the chickens and one to work my...

Just checking in with everyone. Hello to all the new BYC'ers! Got a chance to go to Hollow Oak Farm last week, I really enjoyed myself! I almost walked away with those Chocolate Orpingtons that Hollow had there, but had to pull myself together and remember what my breeding plan is. Sometimes...

Here is a glass half full for you. I thought to myself this morning, All this rain is going to make my chicken coops a muddy mess." It did of course. What I have noticed is (glass half full part), The week to ten day caked up chicken poop, becomes mush. With a flat shovel, early tomorrow...

I know with chicken eggs they have to be kept at 55 to 65 degrees to stay dormant. I think most people will advise you to rotate them also, like if they were in the bator. I dont know alot about ducks but I would say it should be similar to chickens eggs as that goes. Cant help with the rest...
