I sure am. I love friendly chickens. My girls follow us around the yard and look in the living room windows to tell us they are hungry.

I love my Australorps! I never thought about them looking like crows or ravens. I always have ravens in my trees here. I don't have to worry a ton about predators (except local cats and dogs) as I live in town, but my coop is built to keep them out. I have 8 australorps and 2 silver laced...

Hi Grizdad! Welcome. I'm doing my about once a year check in. Chicks will be for sale soon in the supply stores (Murdochs?) I like to hatch my chickens out every Easter here. I have never tried finding Laying hens myself so not sure, maybe just asking around with people who have...

My girls are looking pretty good now. I didn't get light in their coop early enough and they had a massive group molt. I thought the poor things were going to freeze this winter. I'm feeding free choice layer pellets, about a half pound of fodder a day, and getting geared up to switch from...

Had the baby Australorps out for their first time today. They had a great game of worm keep away. We kept feeding them more an more worms until they wouldn't eat any more. Took the video with my cell phone so the quality is pretty low but we had a blast playing with the chickies!

have you looked at MT.gov and searched for bees? There is a registry for apiaries (I think that is the word) maybe you could get contact info from them. I plan on getting two hives next spring, doing all of my book learning on it now but it seems like all the bee books are written by the same guy

The chickens are really really sorry. They laid 7 eggs yesterday (I usually get 4-5) and even the little bantam laid an egg which she hasn't don't since she went broody a few months ago. All the eggs were laid before 4pm which is when i usually let them out so I don't think 7 is the normal...
