Oh my goodness! No, I haven't culled a pretty one, but I did put a mean pullet in insulation for 3 days because she was terrorizing everyone. Do you think she's going to go broody and is just having a raging hormone issue?

Ooh, I like him, the baring looks awesome silkied! So... could you breed a chocolate silkie rooster over a cuckoo hen and get barred carrying chocolate males, then breed that over more cuckoo females and get a few chocolate cuckoos in the hatch?

Ok phew, they aren't crosses! I think leakage is fairly common, I don't know how you would breed it out / shut it off though. The cuckoo makes it hard since you'd have to have cuckoo females too. I think you are safe to stay with your original plan of just keeping a NN if it is a pullet. If...

Wow Debbie, you have a tough challenge here! I'm not a NN admirer but that cuckoo roo is very eye catching. I have to admit your little paint is pretty cute 🤔 I can't speak to the quality of the cuckoo as I really don't know, but he sure is striking 😁

    Debbie's Silkies

I hope not as well 🤣 and really, he must behave because I have "too many" boys so no room for a mean one!

    Debbie's Silkies

I'm not sure, but I would bet some thought in there was wondering if I'm food :lau I can only hope he was thinking that I'm really nice and I was so helpful to him that he'll remember it forever and never try to flog me :fl

He really thinks he's something now, I gave him and the other silkies eye floof trims tonight and now they can see better they're all scratching and pecking the ground and really living it up. He took advantage of his fresh look by giving me a thorough look over.

    Debbie's Silkies

Nope, Normie is new to the breeding scene 😊 he's a doll too. He's not perfect, but he's sweet. I have what looks to be a really nice black cockerel growing out now, proper comb, 5 toes, jet black, and the wings look good! This little guy will likely take Norman's place. I'm sure he'll be...

    Debbie's Silkies

You need Norman eggies to have some true blacks to breed to that paint NN 😉
