I would say our EEs lay a slightly larger egg on average, I have two orpingtons that lay a smaller egg. Here are some from today and yesterday to compare, it’s not a huge difference in size.
My orpingtons and EE get a long really well but that could be because they all band together to stay out of the RIR’s way if at all possible 😂. I’d be interested to hear from someone who has orpingtons that act as top hen, to see if that changes things. Or maybe they aren’t typically the lead...
Now that’s it’s getting warmer where I live, my EE have all started producing quite nicely! I mentioned before I have six of them, they are all very personable and sweet. It is true though that they will be more of a mixed bag since they are a mixed breed. They all lay medium to large blue eggs...

Just my experience but my Easter eggers (all 6 of them) are our friendliest and most easy going gals. We love them! They don’t lay as frequently as our lav orpingtons but still produce a good 3-4 colored eggs per week.
If I had any regrets, I would say I wish we hadn’t gotten the Rhode Island...
