I take the lid apart to clean. Watched a YT tutorial by the Brinsea channel when I first got the incubator - otherwise I bet I would have done it wrong and broke the thing lol. But I let it sit for at least a week so it REALLY dry. I find it so much easier to get all the fluff that way.

Day 20 here and my husband SWEARS he heard chirping and saw one egg bouncing around. For the last 4 hours I’ve been spying on them every 5 minutes and have seen and heard nothing. I think he’s more excited than I am and imagined it 😂

I set silkie eggs on March 7. Didn’t even occur to me that if I waited 2 days it would line up with Easter! 20 eggs set but I’m not sure what hatch rate will be. This is my first time incubating eggs from these young ladies.
