    MJ's little flock

I've just been out to the roost in the dark with my red head-mounted light on to trim the dried poop clods from Mary's butt fluffs. She stood still like an angel for 6 minutes then walked away. I waited for her to settle down again, then picked her up from behind and under the feet/legs as...

Here too! The planning is more hopeful than certain, so don't hold your breath! And that list was only the big projects. There are dozens of little ones too.

Here's a jigsaw puzzle with a photo taken 5 minutes ago, although it's a familiar pose! Easy and hard (130 pieces).

The joy is starting to emerge. There's still a lot to do. But it feels good to be at the end of the veranda project. The next big project will be solar panels. Then fencing. Then a side path. The bore and irrigation. A garage. A roof. Those are all very expensive and will take 5-6 years before...

I was telling the painter he's in the right trade for transforming! It's like the house is having a Cinderella moment and he's the fairy godmother.

Plumbing was done in the one week of my life when I had two homes at my disposal. By great stroke of luck, I had sold my little flat to an acquaintance who rented it back to me until the big house settled, which dragged on for several months. I booked the plumbers and locksmith for day 1 of...

The painter got to the scotia repairs today, it looks fantastic! And surface prep for the doors has happened. It's all coming along nicely :D

It's come a long way. The whole house has. When I first moved in there were no working toilets, no hot water, no stove, no airconditioning, and it was under years of filth. It's starting to look graceful again and I love it!

    MJ's little flock

It's been an unusual day for the hens. Usually if I'm home, they're out of the run and roaming the garden. Today, I'm home but the painter needs the gates open so the hens are confined to their run. It's given me an opportunity to see how they use it. There's a lot of lounging around and...

I'm on a sick day to recuperate from my head cold and Blossom is making sure I don't get out of bed. Such a good nurse. The painter is making great progress! I'll take more photos after he's gone home for the day.

No, I decided I liked the simplicity and honesty of the expressed joins. However, the idea of planter boxes in front of the slab has legs, if not budget (yet). It'll encourage people towards the steps and soften the appearance.
