My young cockerel Bert seems to just glory in terrorizing my two silkies Henny and Marty. Tonight he chased Henny into the stall I was filling water buckets in, he didn’t know I was in there - Henny ran to me she knew I was there - so I trapped him I. There to catch him but like a ninja chicken...

Yes - which is why I am not even going to think of keeping any of the chicks from the eggs my niece is getting from me to hatch for her school. I am not waiting 8 to 10 weeks to do a gender test - they are harder to rehome then. Easier when they are cute and fluffy.

I have 4 already and wouldnt mind a couple of pullets to replace the older girls. But I can’t wait months to tell if a Roo or girl. I will sell as cute babies easier to get rid of them then. Hard to get rid of Roos when older. Maybe I’ll set Henny next year with some eggs again and so the...

Ooooo more babies! I can’t wait to see what you get! I have started collecting eggs from my silkies for my niece, she will pick a dozen up on the 9th (I will give her the most recent ones of course) and set them the 10th. Then should have silkie chickies end of the month! They will end up...

I had them as a kid and they mimicked the wild birds calls all the time - it was hilarious to hear robins in the winter! They were scape artists also… I really miss their lively antics 😊

I am so stoked she laid her first egg today, I wasn’t really expecting it as she hadn’t been squatting. But at 20 weeks I guess it isn’t unusual. And it’s a nice pink colour.

I could put a handle on them and they can be a feather duster hahaha 😊 Today the lady at the feed store and I were sharing chicken photos, she has the most darling frizzle silkie Roo whom she says is a sweetheart. I showed her Betty and she said she looked like a flower - a peonie! She does...

I am glad you have so many that are spunky 💕 it’s hard not to want them all to survive but sometimes it just isn’t meant to be. Meanwhile I can’t wait to see these ones growing up 😊💕

Yes I see, but it doesn’t seem to be bothering them. My Roo has kinked centre toes, I often worry they might be painful but he keeps on doing his thing…

OMGosh!!! Oh so beautiful! Sea rights? Right? Gosh I wish I could have them here but I fear my -30 winters would be too hard for them. The silkies have a hard enough time I have to keep the sweeter heater on for them to warm up under.

Oh my gosh they are sooooo cute! I just love them 😊 And I am glad the one egg has its air cells figured out. I sure hope the other two eggs are good even though that may not look like it is not the case. I sure hope that you get a few more eggs hatching 💕
