    Been busy. Final report is 14 out of 22 eggs hatched in the incubator. Seven of these were unfertilized. One died in shell. My Cochin hen hatched 3 out of 12. One died in shell. Eight of those were unfertilized.

    Checked on my broody Black Cochin. Candled the eggs. Three of the 12 were clear so I removed them. So she is sitting on 9 of which 2 were too dark to see into so we shall see.

    I have forgotten what temp chicks should be at. I have my brooder warming up ready to move them as soon as the temp gets to 80 F but I am not sure that is enough coming from 99 F.

    You know about putting marbles in the drinking water? Besides keeping them from drowning the flashing of the light on the wet marbles encourages them to drink. Also helps getting them to eat too. They are motion rigged.

    I have chirps! One chick popped a piece of shell off though is not through the inner membrane. Gonna put wet paper towels on the eggs. Another is rocking.

    I would like to set for this with chicken eggs. Course I will probably have to win an auction on Ebay. There are some nice Opal Legbars that don't look out of my league. If I can find the seller of rainbow eggs that had true pink eggs I might try to get some of them. My girls are taking a break...
