    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

Thank you. I've made no study of turkey feed needs. Good to know.

    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

Yes, I suspect that it is, thanks! I've got a copy stashed somewhere on my computer. That, or its this one. https://cobbgenetics.com/assets/Cobb-Files/Broiler-Guide_English-2021-min.pdf One is for maintaining a breeder flock, the other is for the table flock. Both are informative (if dry)...

    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

You won't find an excessive level of Met in Chicken feed, unless there is an error in mixing. Is it theoretically possible? Sure. But proteins with high met levels are among the most expensive ingredients in the bag, and as I said, its hard to find in nature, particularly among plant...

    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

MUCH better on a computer. Here's the ingredients on the first on, ontil we reach the synthetic Met addative: Wheat - Ground, Ground Peas, Sunflower Meal, Wheat Millrun, Calcium Carbonate, Organic Sesame Seed Meal, Flaxseed Meal, Monocalcium Phosphate, DL-Methionine... Now, here's the...

    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

I'm going to go check the main website for that manufacturer, I think that chewy has the ingredients list wrong. One of the ingredient lists, the one for the organic with almost no methionine, list DL methionine right after the vitamin A additive. It's almost impossible to have methionine at...

Yes, that's a below minimum recommend by a significant margin. Its because they removed the soy. Its one of the few decent Met sources in the plant world.

    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

0.4% methionine is good for most anything. The only reason to seriously consider 0.55% methionine is if you are raising meat birds like CX and similar. I would be perfectly happy with Met in the 0.4% through 0.45% inclusion rates. If price is the same, there is no detriment to the higher 0.55%...

    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

As a general rule, Methionine levels of 0.3% are considered bare minimum for adult layers. Met needs are higher for hatchlings, adolescents, "meaties". Some modern studies recommend higher levels still, 0.32, 0.34. I know the differences seem small, but studies into methionine deficient diets...

    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

ABSOLUTELY true. Broilers are custom built for extreme growth rates - they need even more nutritionally dense feed than the typical hatchkling or adolescent to do their best. And yes, there are posters here who will sometimes boost" their normal feed by mixing with a bit of Broiler feed, Game...

    Thoughts and Observations on Protein

I am one of the All Flock/Flock Raiser all the time, fresh clean water, oyster shell in seperate dish on the side tpyes. I've read a LOT of studies, linked quite a few of them here. I'm convinced by the research. Thats my bias. Having said that, once you meet the minimums, increasing protein...
