Sounds like a rather uncouth day for Fret 🤣 Great flapping photo!

Mow always looks as though she is very busy shopping! Glad to see some new feathers budding on Carbon's bare spot. About how many days has Ms. Fret been sitting, now?

If I was sporting the bald spot Carbon is, I would be muttering anti-Dig statements, too!

Have you seen improvement from that wound on Fret?

My hen resembles an Olympian body builder when she does that squat: Right after the egg dropped my rooster (sitting quietly beside her the entire time) stood up:

Do you think there is a chance that some of the eggs may be Dig's vs Henry's?

Glad to know I am not alone in administering occasional goodnight pats and/or "back boops" to roosting chickens. Not sure what they think about the practice, but my rooster tolerates 2-3 boops well: Little chick is looking good!

Henry looks too happy to care about the classic looks of confusion cast by his attentive side crowd. May we all find something nice to burble about today 🙂 Looks like Mow decided to give Fret some roosting company for the night!

Might there be any jostling or restlessness from the others' nocturnal movements on the roost that she wishes to avoid while nursing that wound? 🤔 The apple blossom is lovely!

Perhaps the allotment poster's opinions would carry more weight than wind could they witness the obvious misery expressed here by Henry, Carbon, Fret, and Mow in having to share a perch with the perpetrator of said impolitic cruelty ;)

Sad for these tough circumstances, but also very happy for the overall relief and future harmony of the flock. Those bald spots certainly won't be missed. Henry was so harassed-looking at the beginning of this thread, and you have brought so much peace and balance to both him, and the flock...

Do you think it likely that Mow stops roaming so much without the impetus of keeping away from Dig?

The geese do appear to be refereeing from their recliners with language habitually varied and colorful as are their opinions 😆 Today was a good day for perching on the barrel to keep a good eye on the hen dirt bathing inside:

Even visiting Ms. Pippa seemed to see something a bit off-putting about that fellow. Shape up, Dig! I think we all would very much like to see him succeed, too.

Allotment flock is doing well, Shadrach's allotment apparel is receiving public attention, Mow (one of the former chicks) has had a case of scaley leg mites but is doing better, Henry is putting up with Dig (the other former chick) very tolerably!

Good immunities must be lurking in that most refreshing puddle water 😝 Very interesting your rooster findings with your friend. What a smart boy, that rooster! Surely switching to nocturnal egg-snatching will find your friend less seldomly headlessly pinned in the doorway with one hand in the...
