Well thank you..👍
And you are correct, I've been told white generally is not to be a concern until after their approximate 18 month molt. Most usually lose the white feathers much quicker tho.
Not sure if I've posted this link here but there's a active Marans thread if you'd like to get some feedback on yours...

Thank you... I'm looking to incubate Joannie's, Angels (Joannie's daughter) and 1 other of my OG's eggs this week.
Betty is another Meyer hatchery hen that's an all black BCM that lays a nice matte finish egg.
All my hens are in with my other roo now and he's a little over colored in the chest...
Joannie is my darkest layer from Meyers....I posted pics I believe on page 2.. Angel lays a tad darker egg than her tho, she is Joannie's daughter. (Pics on cup)
He was a good looking boy. You should visit the Marans thread. Lots of great members there that know way more than I. If you want to really get serious start at page 1 and read thru. It's a world of info there, I'm reading thru it a second time now taking notes and screen shots...
Here's Kong. He's my goober of the crew and spoiled ridiculous. I need to get a video of this dude in action. He was banded from Meyers.
He's massive. Short and chunky is what we're looking for in the SOP, being a dual purpose breed. His coloring is very good with no white according to the...
Totally understand. If you don't see a band you could call them and ask. Maybe they don't band now anymore but that don't make too much sense for someone specifying a boy and wanting to identify it.
No rush tho for pics, keep the Littles warm and comfy for now.
Looking forward to seeing all your pics. I only have the one Easter Egger and my June hatch was 3 cockerels so I sold them. I need a few more for Olive Eggers. I'd like to get a few Fibros but they're pricey.
My boys aren't banded. I'll start banding any new boys I get in my spring test matings.
This is Joannie. (Single purple leg band) She's my golden girl from Meyers. 3yrs old in April '24. She's head hen and my first broody and what a wonderful momma, I didn't think she was going to ever kick her babies out of the nest.
I couldn't ask for 2 better boys and that's not just being bias towards the BCM's. (I've had 7 total over the years)
Very attentive to the hens, they do all the things roosters are suppose to... find treats, let them eat first, find lay spots, stands guard with them while they lay, will stand...
