I got these darlings yesterday at the feed store. My first ducklings ever, I've had chickens for 3 years and been itching to add ducks. I don't know the breed of them, the Lady at the store said they were day old ducklings (yesterday). The green one is a fair bit bigger than the two orange ones. The green one has an orange bill, the orange ones have pink bills...any ideas?

I just finished having a great snuggle with them and they're now curled up sleeping in their nursery.

They are very cute!! Very colorful too. I can't help with breed maybe after the dye comes off it will be easier. I would guess they are 2 different breeds. Good luck.

I would Guess your green one is a Pekin (he is a big boy and the beak color is what makes me say Pekin)

Your Orange little ones may be Fawn Runners because of the light colored beaks and they are usually smaller babies.

I guess we will wait and see if I got it right...

Thank you Ladies! I looked up both breeds of ducklings and they sure do look like those breeds.
They had a wee swim in the tub tonight and when we were all finished my white towel was covered in green and orange splotches LOL The green one likes to climb up on my shoulder and bury his/her face in my hair. I'm impressed with how quickly they settle down and snuggle into my hands or against my chest when I pick them up. I expected them to be much more flighty than they are.

LOL I guess I'm going to have to just enjoy them and ask again when they've done some changing :) I'm going to head to the feed store today and get 2 more Pekin babies.

Most hatcheries don't sell Muscovies. I agree that the large one is most likely a Pekin and the other 2 are either Fawn Runners or Buff ducks. Most hatcheries use sold, light colored ducklings for Easter because they color better.
