How are all the flock doing, I have only just finished the whole thread, it was amazing, so had when she died, have u considered making another guinea cross and seeing how long it lives, u never know it may have been just that type of genetic mix, if crossed with a RIR you could have a guinea cross that was a brilliant layer
5 years later, and I just read through all 86 pages... and WOW!
Reading this story has taken me through a roller coaster of emotions. You have all been such an amazingly supporting community of Miracle fans.
Mena, I hope you are well. Are you still thinking about bringing that children's book into being? (Maybe with illustrations by Artsyrobin...?) An artist could draw pictures of all the moments you didn't get a chance to capture, like Miracle and the horse eating bread together. I suppose you think a children's story shouldn't have a 'sad' ending, but although Miracle was only here a short time, she was a perfect angel and brought so much good into the world.
I found this in October of 2016, read through the entire thing in a few days' time. WOW! What a roller coaster of emotions! I hope this thread stays alive for generations! And I would LOVE to have a book written by Mena and illustrated by ArtsyRobin!
A lot of us were Miracle fans and took her death very hard. Mena sent me a couple of Miracle's feathers and I still have them.
Back then ever ybody thought they were going to breed guin-hens as they called them - knowing full well the offspring wouldn't live very long. I hope they gave up trying.
Oh, yes, I definitely don't think this would be something that should be forced. I do know there are those out there that force the breeding and hatching of hybrids, but I think it's too cruel. If it is going to happen, it should happen naturally, and be the miracle it should be.
What a touching story! How sad that you lost Miracle! I would love to include her story on an article I am writing about hybrid poultry. Mena, @OurLittleChickenFarm, could I use your photos to illustrate my article?
