Wheaten and Blue wheaten Marans Discussion Thread

After a three year hiatus I now have the opportunity to get back into breeding. I got a dozen lovely Blue Wheaten/Wheaten eggs from Gypsy Hen out of Oklahoma.

I did keep three of my hens from my original flock I hope to get a few chicks out of them next year with the best rooster i get out of my hatch.

8 chicks had a nineth that started to zip but wasn’t strong enough and was dead by the time I intervened. Have a few more eggs I’m going to give a few more hours in the incubator but I think the hatch is mostly done.

I also got a dozen Silver Ameraucana eggs at the same time so that is what the striped chicks are.

What breed are the 3 Speckled roosters in this picture. Not that marans. I have one just like these and have no idea. I love him so.
