Meet the "Warlander" a new fad breed of horse

You mean I posted something about 'thread devolution'?

Well...threads often wander. I posted in response to a question about why cross morgans and saddlebreds secretly - that the classes were about 'making morgans as saddlebred-y as possible'.

and then.....and then....and then....(clerk at fast food restaurant in 'Dude, Where's My Car?')

I think a bunch of them were seized by the SPCA in Alberta a couple of years ago. Very sad case. The owner wouldn't surrender the papers when the SPCA took the animals.
Arabs are not selling here, can hardly give them away.

This thread has gone down the crazy river but it has been informative.

I still like the Warlander.

You can love the idea or hate it; but I just adore my 2 year old Warlander filly! She has a fabulous willing temperament and a level headed way about her. I can't wait to get her in the dressage ring ;)

Jakd--awesome filly!! I was just reading an article in Warmbloods Today about a Warlander going to the Paralympics with a young rider!! They got the horse because she had the most wonderful temperament, and Paralympic horses have to be totally bombproof. Is the sire the Friesian or the dam?

People are breeding Friesians and Arabs, they are called Arabos.
Prefer the Warlander over the Georgian Grandes, from reading their requirements they seem to have a tighter criteria for registration.
Almost all horse breeds were a crossing of some sort in the beginning. To each their own.

A beauty, you should be proud of her.
