So after lots of time debating on a coop I broke down and just ordered the purple eglu cube with the long run. I am not a builder and wasn't finding much luck with people to help me so I just did it. I hope it works out:)

They do look pretty good, but I dont like how they dont have roosts. I would have checked craigslist, lots of people sell finished coops and sometimes take custom orders!

I have 2 of the cubes, I have 6 Light Brahmas in each one, 5 Hens and a Rooster in each. I have limited mobility due to severe arthritis, but I can handle these no problem and I can move them around the field by myself, all parts are easy to clean and very very easy to operate and put together, Cleans up like new with a hose, both of mine have the additional run on them. There are roosts in it just above the pull out poop trays, it is an impressive pieace of equipment. You can very easily lock your girls in for the night from the outside of the Cube, just a brilliantly designed product. With my mobility issues I don't think I could very easily keep chickens in a wooden coop and keep the pests and mites out. I would reccomend a cube for anyone who wants to keep a few chickens for eggs and in a safe environment. And no I don't work for Omlet:)

I have seen people that aren't beginners that have just purchased the cube or 2 and built a HUGE walk in run around it. My hen that I have now roams the yard free until night time. I have 8- 4 1/2wk old pullets that will be in the cube. I needed something easy to clean and something that I could easily move from house to house since I am just renting for now.

urbancountrygal I think you have made the right choice as well, I ordered both my cubes with the extended run, I have 6 Light Brahmas (big birds) in each, however if you had smaller Breeds like Leghorns or bantams you could get 10 or more in a cube easy.

Hi, I have the Go and will add a cube this Christmas along with an enclosed walk in run. I love how easy it is to clean my Eglu. My neighbors and friends are constantly saying how there is no smell. I think because it's just so easy to clean we don't have to worry as much about smells. Welcome to Eglu. Oh, and if you haven't already joined, there is a great Omlet forum with lots of support for Eglu owners.
